White Stork (Ciconia ciconia) PVC OT 13/07/1909
Last year, specifically on 2/28/2008, I saw a white stork (Ciconia ciconia ) in Camí Llíria (Naquera, El Camp de Turia) . The bird had a ring of PVC in right tibia and spent the night resting on a support power lines near a feed mill. The next morning I could make some photos and took flight after a while. Later I sent the ring to read the Doñana Biological Station (EBD) , which is responsible for handling trademark special ( PVC rings, wing markings, necklaces, etc..).
data I have come to recovery, although it is unknown banding data, but seemingly inexplicable what EBD and unfortunately we have too accustomed-), this bird was previously read in a couple of times: on 26/04/2006 was seen in the Dam of Riolobos (Salamanca) , and a year later, on 04.30.1907, was observed in Aiguamolls els de l'Empordà (Girona) . Too bad we do not have banding data and we can not know when and where it was ringed as we had some information about its survival and migration routes from their place of origin.
