Wryneck (Jynx torquilla)

A summary of the Rings made during the last few days in our banding station of Turia River, located in the Mas dels Frares (Vilamarxant) .
Showing only banding. Highlight
capture 3 Wryneck (Jynx torquilla) in recent days, two of whom have been recaptured with plate incubator. Also interesting is the capture of blackcaps (Sylvia atricapilla) in breeding season, some of which show plate incubator (females) and developed cloacal protuberance (males).
Still, all catches can be considered within expectations, the absence of rare or scarce species recorded for the area. During March and April have not been ringed in the station, so that "we have spent" some species which undoubtedly must use the river as a corridor during their migrations (eg, Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Warbler, warblers Subalpine, etc.).
The number of catches is not very high considering that placed 9 networks. I have attached photos of the Wryneck, taken by José Ventura . EA
